About Captain James Weeks

Captain James is a lifelong angler. Growing up in a fishing family, he learned the ropes from an early age and quickly became passionate about this way of life. He's now been fishing for 30 years and has built up an immense amount of knowledge that he loves to share with others.

Captain James Weeks is the owner and operator of Reel N' Time Fishing Charters A Clarks Hill Lake Fishing Charter, based out of Thomson Georgia. He is a licensed captain, ensuring you have a safe and productive day fishing! He has been fishing throughout Georgia since he was a boy, spending as much time on the water as humanly possible. Fishing became a passion for James, and one he decided to share with others, thus establishing his fishing guide business.

Specialties

Freshwater Fishing (Crappie and Striped Bass Fishing)

He has perfected his techniques for freshwater fishing, crappie, and striped bass fishing. He has prefect several styles of fishing long lining , pushing, live scoping and down roding . All of which can be very productive. 

In addition to down-rod fishing, Captain James also engages heavily in bottom fishing and trolling. Bottom fishing entails dropping your bait to the bottom of a lake or riverbed while trolling consists of dragging lures through deeper waters while following boats slowly forward.

He always had a fascination with two species of fish: striped bass and crappie. Not only are these two types of fish plentiful in the region where he fishes, but they also provide an exciting challenge to anglers who target them. 

The striped bass is a species that can grow fairly large, making it a favorite among those who enjoy catching bigger fish. It is known for its aggressiveness when attacking bait or lures and this often makes it easier to catch than some other species. As for the crappie, its smaller size makes it suitable for even novice anglers but experienced anglers know that this species requires finesse to land successfully. 

For Captain James, targeting striped bass and crappie has become second nature over time as he continues to refine his techniques for landing these popular sportfish.

The Boats:

Experience the thrill of navigating the open waters of Clarks Hill Lake on a 25 foot center console Carolina Skiff or a 22 foot Bulls Bay center console boat. On his Carolina Skiff Captain James runs a 150 HP engine that allows the boat to cruise at a top speed of 40 mph. The boat can fit up to six guests and comes equipped with a GPS, Fish finder, livewell and live bait tank. On his center console Bulls Bay boat Captain James runs a 150 Horsepower engine and the boat comes equipped with a GPS and fish finder. Captain James generally uses his Bulls Bay boat for smaller parties as it has a maximum capacity of four guests. Enjoy large fish boxes and an even larger livewell, giving you ample storage space for all your fishing needs.
