Perfect Family Day

Blessed Others Trip

Beautiful Lake Day
Our crew needed a well deserved break to get away and enjoy ourselves. Our captain James was a hoot as he showed us several spots that were dead on the fish. We laughed as we had known him for years. Guys and gals, if you need a getaway to just have a ball, I would highly recommend booking a trip with him. Remember he fills up quick so don't delay in booking your spot for this season. Some captains spend most of the time riding from spot to spot trying to find the fish, James knows were they are. The lake was beautiful and the weather was perfect for a day on the lake. Crappie
Crappie are some of the most cooperative fish you'll find on Clarks Hill Lake, typically running 10-12 inches and weighing close to a pound. We've got both black and white crappie here - the blacks have random speckles while whites show vertical bars along their sides. These fish love hanging around submerged timber, brush piles, and creek channels in 8-15 feet of water. Spring through early summer is prime time when they move shallow to spawn, but they bite year-round if you know where to look. What makes crappie so popular is their excellent table fare - sweet, flaky white meat that's hard to beat. They travel in schools, so when you find one, there's usually more nearby. Here's a local tip: use a small jig tipped with a minnow and fish it slow around structure. Crappie have soft mouths, so keep steady pressure but don't horse them in.
